NYU Child Study Center Helps Teens at Risk
On May 8th, The NYU Child Study Center announced the launch of "STEPS" (Screening, Treatment, and Education to Promote Strength), a new early risk identification and prevention program for high school teens in Rockland and Orange counties. This unique and comprehensive prevention initiative was made possible with a $500,000 grant from New York State, spear-headed by Senator Thomas P. Morahan. The program aims to promote mental well-being and reduce the risk of suicide and school violence through education, self-help, and screening.
Bloomingdale's Fashion Show Raises over $85,000 for Child Study Center

The 2008 Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon to Benefit the NYU Child Study Center was held at Bloomingdale's New York City on April 11, 2008. It was co-chaired by Christine Mack, Marcia Mishaan and Claude Wasserstein; and once again, was graciously underwritten by Bloomingdale's. Attendees had a chance to participate in a raffle for luxurious prizes, with all proceeds contributing to the $85,000 that has been raised to date. In addition, Bloomingdale's donated 10% of the day's sales from the Designer Collection purchases.
Senator Hillary Clinton Presents Child Advocacy Award to Brooke Garber Neidich at 10th Anniversary Gala
The Tenth Annual Child Advocacy Award Dinner was held on Tuesday, December 4 at Cipriani 42nd Street. Led by CSC Board members Michael Recanati and Ira Statfeld, this year's dinner honored Brooke Garber Neidich, the founding chair of the Child Study Center. The Child Advocacy Award was presented by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, the first recipient of the Award and the evening's program was hosted by Katie Couric. Oscar-nominated director Nathaniel Kahn presented two short films, The First Ten Years and Harold and the Boys, created especially for this event. Catherine Lord, Ph.D., Appointed Interim Director of the NYU Child Study Center Asperger Institute
The NYU Child Study Center is pleased to announce that Catherine Lord, Ph.D., has been appointed interim Director of the recently established Asperger Institute. Dr. Lord will provide strategic direction and oversight of the Institute, with goals of improving diagnosis and treatments, developing clinical and education models for children and adolescents with Asperger Syndrome, and establishing a research program.
