The NYU Child Study Center offers a number of educational programs to help professionals promote the healthy development and mental health of our children. Some of our current professional development offerings include:

For Educators and Parents

The NYU Child Study Center School Partnership Lecture Series

This series of free professional development lectures provides educators and parent's updates on recent advances in children's mental health. The goal of the series is to provide practical information that will improve the school experience for students who may have emotional, behavioral, and situational barriers to learning.

Each presentation pairs a mental health professional who specializes in the topic area with an educator who has related experience. Each presentation will include a review of best practice guidelines for the school setting and will place special emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches using "real-life" cases to highlight key issues.

NYU School Partnership

The NYU School Partnership is an ongoing collaboration between the NYU Child Study Center and schools in the New York City area. The Child Study Center provides trained child and adolescent psychologists and psychiatrists to teach education professionals how to recognize high-risk students and manage them in a main-stream educational setting. It also provides consultation and education tailored to meet the needs of a particular school or district.
